I Got Your Social Media Right Here

I was lucky enough to be able to spend the day at the Got Social Media conference in Houston today. It was really worth taking a day away from work to hear some excellent speakers and to network with some very intelligent, thought provoking people or new media douchebags for you haters.

Many of the event photos have been posted on Flickr.All of the speakers were excellent but the ones that really stood out for me were Laura Mayes from www.sk-rt.com, Kelsey Ruger, and Giovanni Gallucci. Laura’s story of how sk-rt was started really inspired me for my entrepreneurial efforts. Monica it was really nice meeting you too! I’d really like to hear more about your start-up adventures.

I’m really impressed with the Houston tech and start-up culture. I’m not sure if Houston is my long-term home but it feels like a great place to start a web business.
